History for the 21st Century (“H/21”) is a collaborative project project of the World History Association, designed to enable college and university faculty to effectively introduce twenty-first century students to the study of history. Our goal is to support college and university faculty to effectively introduce 21st-century students from diverse backgrounds to the study of history at the introductory level, while at the same time supporting faculty in effective pedagogy and curriculum design strategies.
We offer free inquiry-based and student-centered learning materials for your history class. This material is largely designed for introductory courses, but it doesn’t matter what college, university, or school you’re from. There’s no attempt to tell you how you should teach your course, and you can freely adapt whatever is here to the needs of your classroom and your students. We are all working together here!
Feel free to browse the modules and materials your colleagues have created, to read more about our project and our latest news, and to consider supporting us by becoming a module reviewer, contributor, or donor!
